Kazakhstani boxer Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) is no longer the IBF Middleweight World Champion.
GGG has reportedly retired the belt, meaning mandatory contender and number one ranked Brazilian Esquiva Falcao is likely to fight for the vacant title with another available contender. The second place in the IBF ranking is occupied by Australian Michael Zerafa, the third position belongs to the German boxer Vincenzo Gualtieri.
Note that Gennady also owns a WBA Super belt and a minor IBO title. His mandatory opponent in the WBA line is the “regular” world champion Cuban Erislandy Lara.
