We still don’t know when it might come out.
Korean gaming holding Krafton has opened its first studio in Canada. The Krafton Montreal division was headed by people from Ubisoft: several studios of the French company are based in Canada at once.
Led by Ubisoft veteran Patrick Mete, the studio will develop an action role-playing game codenamed Project Windless. The game is based on The Bird The Drinks Tears novel series, and Krafton hopes the project will become “Korean The Witcher”.
According to Mete, the opportunity to work on a new universe is very encouraging for Canadian developers. Studios EA, Warner Bros., Amazon and a host of other companies are open in the country, Krafton Montreal successfully competes with them for experienced personnel.
Now the staff of the studio consists of 12 people, in three years the company intends to increase it to 150 employees. Apparently, other studios will also participate in the development of Project Windless.
Although Project Windless was announced back in the summer of 2021, the game is still in its early stages of development right now. According to Mete, the game will not be released in the near future: the first project of the studio should be of the highest quality, they will spare no time to polish it.
