Somehow, it is planned to interfere with match-fixing.
Developers of the Denuvo anti-piracy protection system have entered into a partnership agreement with the Esports Integrity Commission, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting esports and improving the integrity of matches. The creators of Denuvo will help ESIC fight cheaters.
The details of the agreement were not disclosed. The partners plan to “develop a sophisticated approach” to counter both cheating esports players and match-fixing. It is not reported how the fight against match-fixing will look like.
The implementation of such a system may require the participation of game developers. ESIC partners have not yet commented on the initiative.
It is noteworthy that the Denuvo anti-cheat was developed several years ago. In early 2021, Denuvo Anti-Cheat was integrated into Steamworks, making it easier to integrate the technology into games.
