According to journalist Jeff Grubb, within a month Sony will hold one State of Play minor. Again according to him, one showcase PlayStation greater, however, would be expected before E3 2023i.e. before June 2023.
Grubb didn’t go into detail about either potential event, so he didn’t say what could be featured. But he said it would be about the effort of Sony to respond to the announcements of the competition, read Microsoft and, in part, also Nintendo, finally revealing what is cooking for PS5 in 2023.
It is unclear what Grubb means by minor State of Play. Maybe one with games coming to PS5 in the next few months, which are still a lot, but without any big announcements. For 2023, within the scope of esclusive first party PlayStation, currently we only know that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released later this year (nothing has been seen about the game yet).
Obviously it must be considered PlayStation VR 2 with its line-up, which will inevitably occupy the first half of the PlayStation year. The State of Play could be dedicated precisely to the viewer and its launch games or games arriving close to it.
Of course it is fair to say that for now it is only about rumors, not confirmed by Sony. Of course, it is clear that sooner or later the Japanese multinational will have to do something to present the offer for its console.
