Polish studio Covenant.dev and publishing house Team17 started releasing videos that will tell about the process of working on the future simulator of the Slavic colony Gord. And the first issue was dedicated to the background: how the Gord project began.
To create a game Stan Just, developer Two Worlds 2, Anomaly and “Witcher 3opened his own studio. But he began to think about his project even in the process of working on the addition “stone hearts”, and created it alone, in the evenings. And when the idea was finally formed, a team gathered to implement it.
The main source of inspiration Jast called the strategy Northgardbut the world of Gord will be more like the universe”Witcher“. Slavic mythology is not widely used in games and other media, and it is close to the creators due to its origin.
However, there are also difficulties with the use of Slavic mythology. Unlike Greek or Roman, it is practically not documented, and its interpretations vary greatly. So the developers had to rework it so that it became unified, simple and understandable to the players.
Gord does not yet have a release date, but the game should be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
