02/11/2023 at 08:45 by Maximilian Hohm – Watercool has presented the Heatkiller V Pro for the Founders Edition of the Geforce RTX 4090. The cooler is designed to combine high performance with a chic look and, in addition to high-performance heat pads and optimized flow, also offers controllable lighting. Therefore, read more about the new water cooler below.
Current high-end graphics cards have to achieve a difficult balancing act between power consumption, volume and size, which cannot always be guaranteed with air cooling. In anticipation of high power losses in the current Geforce models, many cooling designs have grown enormously and have become problematic for many compact PC cases. At the same time, even the best air coolers do not reach the level of custom water cooling, so many PC enthusiasts rely on water in their computers. One of the best-known manufacturers in this area is the German company Watercool, which has now introduced the Heatkiller V Pro for the Geforce RTX 4090 FE.

This relies on a high-performance base plate with a particularly fine fin structure, which is intended to achieve greater cooling performance with a larger cooling surface. However, the lamellar structure is said to have been optimized in such a way that a high flow rate is guaranteed. Particular attention was paid to the temperatures of the GDDR6X memory and the voltage converters, which can get very warm. The cooling design is symmetrical and features dual-layer inflow. The connection threads are integrated on the side, so that the cooler appears to be made of one piece. In addition to a screwless cover, the cooler comes with a black backplate that covers all electronic components and optimizes the power distribution around the cooling block.
aRGB strips are pre-installed on the cooler, which are equipped with a modular plug-in system and prepare the cooler for any desired color. The Heatkiller V Pro for the RTX 4090 FE is not yet listed in the PCGH price comparison, but the cooler can already be ordered in the in-house shop for 249.95 euros. The coolers are officially available now, but the delivery time in the shop for the black and the regular version of the cooler is currently 14-15 working days. An acetal version will follow later.
