While Microsoft is still looking to a second physical Xbox product from Rare Grabbed by the Ghoulies waits, THQ at least gets regular supplies from the public-shy English when it comes to GBA: The latest module is Banjo Pilot ready.
The eponymous bear has had enough of the hopping orgies of earlier appearances, now he’s trying his hand at racing: Since there are normal streaks like sand by the sea, the Rare clan climbs into agile planes and rushes through the air – the difference is tooMario Kart & Co. is kept within limits, since the vertical axis only comes into play when collecting the extras.
Graphically it looks unspectacular and pretty thanks to the clever use of Mode 7, otherwise absolutely standard fare is offered: apart from the mediocre boss duel races, there’s nothing new – you can play it, but you don’t have to.
Solid, but not very exciting “Mario Kart” blend without great features.
