4A Games, the team responsible for the Metro series, seems to be already well underway with the sequel to Metro Exodusconsidering that the game seems to already be fully playable within the team.
This does not mean much, given that the “playable” title status is a requirement that does not necessarily indicate proximity to the release date, but rather a necessity that arises to carry out actual product testing, however it is indicative of the ‘work progress.
Considering that the team has never given precise information on its new job, these rumors published by Insider-Gaming, received through unidentified “sources”, are still very interesting. 4A Games had reported that a new Metro chapter was planned after Metro Exodus, but there has never been an official announcement and a precise title on the new game in development.
Based on reports, it seems that the presentation of the title in question may not be dieting, given that i works appear to be in an advanced state. The new chapter should have been developed specifically for next-generation platforms such as PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, as well as for PC.
Sources report an opening sequence that stages a kind of dream, followed by the awakening inside a base of operations. For what concern gameplay, the new Metro should follow the line set by the previous ones with the mix between first person shooter, RPG, stealth and more. Last month, the official tools for modders in Metro Exodus were made available.
