The well-done and successful horror series Layers of Fear is known to be celebrating its comeback this year – and now the release period has been noticeably narrowed further.
Under the name Layers of Fears, Bloober Team had announced the comeback of their own successful horror series for 2023 – and now they are becoming a whole lot more specific about the release period.
Unfortunately, the hopes of a release in the spring of this year are not fulfilled. Instead, a short new trailer now appears to be June 2023 as the planned release date; However, a very specific day has not yet been named.
Attentive fans noticed another special feature of the trailer: the naming of the new horror game has changed. The continuation of the franchise was originally announced as Layers of Fears, but the plural has now been left behind and the comeback is apparently being released under the name Layers of Fear.
The game planned for this year takes up the original game from 2016 including the expansion “Inheritance” and the sequel Layers of Fear 2. The content is revised for the new edition, gets new game mechanics and, thanks to the Unreal Engine 5, also has a noticeably better look on the current new consoles. This is joined by a fresh chapter with “The Final Note”, which expands on the story of the original game. This chapter is then told from the perspective of the antagonist.
The bottom line is that Layers of Fear is much more than a classic remaster of the first two parts. Release is scheduled for June 2023 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
