Along the lines of the 10% salary increase for all employees of Nintendo Japan, SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS INC. communicated that SEGA Corporations will initiate a compensation review of all employees. This is a decision aimed at increasing the average income of workers at the company.
Seeking a work environment that is comfortable for all employees, as suggested by the company’s own press release, will lead to a 30% increase in average monthly salary. All this, although it was made official on February 17, 2023, will take place starting from July 1 this year.
Increasing the base salary to annual salary ratio for the company’s human resources will be a step forward for the strengthening global competitiveness, according to SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS INC. In detail, the paper in question gives an example of the changes that will take place for the initial payment of graduate employees (expressed in Yen): from ¥222,000 it will go to ¥300,000, with a +35% on the annual salary received.
The novelties, however, are not limited only to the aforementioned variations: in fact, there is also talk of a future early payment scheme for retirement and not only. “We will continue to invest in human resources training, including not only developing a compensation system that treats employees according to their role and contribution, but also expanding measures to support working styles that allow each employee to live their own life as well the implementation of training courses at the ‘SEGA SAMMY College‘, a college within a company and language training across the group.”
The great success of SEGA, which recently launched a new experience created by the Yakuza Team that we told you about in the review of Like A Dragon Ishin, has allowed the company to make a significant change in the salary compensation of all workers.
