Atomic Heart is one of the highlights of the week. Atomic Heart goes on sale tomorrow February 21 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PS4 and Xbox One (including Xbox Game Pass from day one).
the russian study Mundfish has managed to create a spectacular game graphically (with some ups and downs depending on the console) and with a very complete and addictive gameplay reminiscent of BioShock: first person shooters, linear development, supernatural powers and narrative-focused.
The notes for Atomic Heart have been mixed, but we have loved this science fiction adventure in a dystopian Soviet Union, full of black humor… as this joke that has given us special grace for how meta it is.
The exploited Atomic Heart video game developer who only rests… in the other neighborhood
Our protagonist, agent P-3, is in charge of eliminating all the rebellious androids that begin to rebel against humans. One of the unfortunates to fall to the robots is a dead game developer.
Thanks to the implants, the deceased can speak for a while after their death, in a kind of “limbo” of thoughts.
And this videogame developer anonymous did not think of anything other than how unfortunate he was, I didn’t have a day off!

Atomic Heart – Meta Crunch Joke
When we talk to his corpse, he yells at us that “I can’t take it anymore, that’s enough”, and our talking glove Char-les suggests that it’s one of the developers of Kollektiv 2.0“who had a pretty rough time in the days leading up to the neural network upgrade.”
P-3 adds that they had brutal delivery times, “as usual”. “Anyway, now you have all the time in the world, mate.”
By the way, the “speedy Indian bat” at the beginning is not that the developer has lost his mind, but that it’s a phrase used to see what all fonts look like (it’s a phrase that includes every vowel and consonant ).
This is not the first time that a video game makes a joke about “crunch”, the painful working conditions of many video game programmers, forced to do intensive days and overtime “as a rule” to finish the games on time, and which have been denounced in many studios such as Rockstar, Naughty Dog, Ubisoft…
Recently, Sports Story had a “secret room” where several developers from a fictional studio bemoaned miserable working conditions and poor management… although this appeared to be a “cry for help” from the developers, and was removed in a later patch.
