President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky sharply commented on the words of the former Italian prime minister and leader of one of the coalition parties, Silvio Berlusconi, who called on the Ukrainians to stop attacking the Donbass in order to end the war.
Zelensky said at a joint press conference with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Kyiv:
Silvio Berlusconi? His house was never bombed with rockets every day, and thank God that his partner from the Russian Federation did not drive into his yard in a tank and did not destroy his relatives and friends.
I think Berlusconi didn’t wake up at 3 am because of the blackout and didn’t start washing clothes, cooking two days ahead for his children, because the next two or three days there may simply be no light because of the great brotherly love of the Russian people.
I wish that this never happened in Italy and no one would live through it, because it’s just a big tragedy.
In order to fully form my opinion, it seems to me that we need to come here and see with our own eyes what is happening. And then, if a politician or not a politician comes and sees what happened here, what bloody traces the fraternal Russian Federation left, then we will communicate on the same level.”
