Netflix is testing experiments to stem the subscriber drain it’s been experiencing for the past year and could be taking place right now with its unpopular crackdown on shared accounts. As many have verified, Spain is one of the first countries where it has been launched.
And who says experiments, says blind sticks that are difficult to explain for analysts. At the same time that it works to prevent users who do not live in the same address from sharing an account, Netflix is lowering the price of its subscriptions (in some cases drastically) in other countries.
We already bring you a list of Latin American countries where Netflix has just lowered its price, but it does not end there. The Wall Street Journal has another list of countries where Netflix has dropped or will drop in price soon.

Countries where Netflix drops in price
Netflix has lowered the price or plans to lower it imminently in many countries in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Of course, Western Europe (including Spain) and North America are not in the regions where Netflix is going to reduce its rates.
Bosnia and Herzegovina Serbia Albania North Macedonia Slovakia Croatia Slovenia Bulgaria Nicaragua Ecuador Malaysia Indonesia Thailand Philippines Yemen Jordan Libya Iran Kenya
According to one analyst, John Hodulikquoted by the Wall Street Journal, this measure goes against all recent trends not only from Netflix, but from the entire streaming industry, where it is much more common
Analysts understand this price drop as still they have not been able to find the value of Netflix in each particular marketwhere several factors come into consideration, including local competition (television and streaming services in the country).
For this reason, it is unlikely that price drops will also occur in more “busy” markets, such as North America and Western Europe, where, however, Netflix has other bigger problems: user anger over the new measures , such as the purpose of sharing accounts or their plan with ads… while hiding the plan that is (probably) most beneficial to you.
