02/23/2023 at 3:31 p.m. by Jonathan Harsch – In the run-up to the MWC, AVM announces three new routers. The Fritzbox 5690 Pro and Fritzbox 5690 XGS support the latest technology standard with Wi-Fi 7. The Pro model also runs on DSL and fiber optic connections.
At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the company AVM will present three new routers to the public. The new products and some of their capabilities have now been announced in advance. Specifically, it is the Fritzbox 5690 Pro, Fritzbox 5690 XGS and Fritzbox 6860 5G.
This is what the new routers from AVM have to offer
Fritzbox 5690 Pro: The new Pro model is likely to be the new flagship product from AVM for many, as it supports the latest technology in many areas. Both Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 are compatible with the router. The device can be connected to a DSL and a fiber optic connection and is therefore also suitable for changers. Thanks to the Zigbee and Matter technologies, it is also ideal for setting up a smart home system. Last but not least, the Fritzbox 5690 Pro comes with a tri-band mesh (6 GHz).
Fritzbox 5690 XGS: The XGS model is not very different from the Pro router, but it is only suitable for fiber optic connections. Speeds of up to ten gigabits per second can be achieved here. The Fritzbox 5690 XGS also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7.

Fritzbox 6860 5G: Last but not least, there is the Fritzbox 6860 5G, which is an upgrade to the 6850 G model. The Zigbee and Matter technologies mentioned above, which are also installed in the 5690 routers, are new on board. The Fritzbox 6860 5G also supports Wi-Fi 6 and is therefore ahead of the previous model in this area as well. It is not yet known when the new routers will appear.
