02/23/2023 at 1:37 p.m. by Claus Ludewig – Two weeks after the launch of the new Bing with Chat GPT technology, Microsoft is bringing the search engine with AI to smartphone apps and Skype.
Since February 7th, the new Bing with Open AI technology can be tried out by registering on the website bing.com/new on a waiting list and then being activated as a tester by Microsoft. There are currently over a million registered testers in 169 countries. So far, the new Bing with Chat GPT can only be used on PCs, but Microsoft is now integrating the AI search into smartphone apps. The Android and iOS apps for Microsoft Bing and the web browser Microsoft Edge now offer access to the new Bing with chat GPT, provided you are activated as a beta tester.
Mobile version of Bing with Chat GPT offers voice input
The majority of search queries are now made via mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. As with the desktop version, it is also possible to chat with Bing in the Microsoft apps, with the AI co-pilot giving the Internet sources as footnotes in addition to a brief summary for queries. For example, the competitor for the Google search lists the Internet sources used to answer questions about Hogwarts Legacy. The website operators do not receive any direct financial compensation, only the traffic is to serve as refinancing when a user clicks on the website to find out more. A voice search is available exclusively for the mobile version of Bing, so that you can also speak with your smartphone instead of typing.
Microsoft also integrates Chat GPT into Skype, so that all participants in a group chat can interact directly with the new Bing and the chatbot. After about a week, Microsoft drew a self-critical interim conclusion about the beta and thanked the testers. After all, the AI lives from the input of the users and the evaluation of the answers and can only get better over time. The PCGH editors have already been able to subject the new Bing with Chat GPT to a hands-on test. As a consequence of the interim conclusion, Microsoft limits the question-and-answer scenario so that the AI tool does not get confused by too many messages per session. Microsoft 365 subscribers will soon be able to use Open AI’s Dall-E AI imaging tool alongside Chat GPT.

As Microsoft has announced, the new Bing with Chat GPT will be integrated into smartphone apps with immediate effect. This gives Bing apps and the Microsoft Edge web browser access to the new Bing. The prerequisite for access is that you have already been approved as a beta tester by Microsoft. Microsoft is also integrating the new Bing with AI technology from Open AI into Skype.
