PlayStation took advantage of the State of Play broadcast this evening to announce the new games to be part of the PlayStation Plus catalog: its subscription service which allows players, in exchange for a monthly payment, to benefit from free games.
Summary
Battlefield 2042 (Essentials, Extra and Premium)Minecraft Dungeons (Essentials, Extra and Premium)Code Vein (Essentials, Extra and Premium)Other catalog entries
The latest installment in the Battlefield saga, Battlefield 2042 was very controversial upon its release. Bugs, malfunctions of all kinds and lack of flagship functionality … The title was quickly decried by players: evidenced by the number of players who fell in the months following its launch. However, Electronic Arts did not give up and returned with a much-requested fan system not long ago. From March 7, the arrival of Battlefield 2042 can be an opportunity to try out the latest opus in a cult saga of the first-person shooter genre at a low price.
If Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are undoubtedly the most anticipated games of 2023, Diablo 4 has to be in ambush. Its open beta is expected for the end of March, enough to prepare for the title’s release on June 6th. To warm up your thumbs, we can also consider Minecraft Dungeons with its arrival in PlayStation Plus on March 7th. Of course, the atmosphere is very different in Mojang’s game but will suit hack’n’slash enthusiasts perfectly.
Hopes were high for Souls-Like fans: this State of Play could have been the opportunity to announce a new DLC for Elden Ring. A nice gift for its players in view of February 25, the anniversary date of the release of the latest FromSoftware. This was not the case and some will be able to console themselves with the arrival of Code Vein in the Essentials, Extra and Premium catalog of PlayStation Plus from May 7th.
