Xiaomi 13 Lite: An interesting mid-range smartphone

No, the third smartphone presented by Xiaomi in addition to the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro and the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro, as well as the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, is not the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, but the Xiaomi 13 Lite. Of course, the brand will present its big flagship at a dedicated event later in the year. But the Xiaomi 13 Lite, available in blue, pink and black, is also an interesting smartphone.
It will be marketed at the same time as the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro from March 8 at a price of 499.90 euros. However, by pre-ordering the smartphone before March 12, you will receive the Xiaomi Instant Photo Printer 1S kit for free. If the smartphone looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s a slightly modified Xiaomi Civi 2. This range is exclusive to China.

The Xiaomi 13 Lite measures 159.2 × 72.7 × 7.23 cm and is equipped with a 6.55-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels (FHD+). The maximum refresh rate is now 120 Hz, even in the mid-range, and the touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. The maximum brightness of the panel in direct sunlight is announced at 1000 Nits. The screen is Dolby Vision and HDR10+ certified.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, combined with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage but without microSD card support. The Xiaomi 13 Lite runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 12, but an update to Android 13 is expected soon.
Xiaomi 13 Lite: A familiar photo module
The battery has a capacity of 4500 mAh and supports 67 W fast charging via the supplied charger. There is no wireless and reverse wireless charging. On the photo side, there is a 32 MP selfie lens as on the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, even if it is not the same sensor. Indeed, the Xiaomi 13 Lite has an 8 MP depth sensor in addition to the 1/2.74 inch image sensor.
The advertised “video teleprompter” and “selfie glow” feature should be of particular interest to influencers. One is a scrolling text to read your scripts, the other is a double flash to illuminate your face optimally.
On the back, Xiaomi placed a 50 MP main lens with a 1/1.56 inch Sony IMX766 sensor. It is accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens with a 119° field of view and a Sony IMX355 sensor as well as a 2 MP macro lens.
