The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 got off to a flying start in Barcelona. Xiaomi has notably made a slew of announcements of all kinds, from its new Xiaomi 13 Lite, Xiaomi 13 (our grip) and Xiaomi 13 Pro (which we have already tested), to a very elegant connected watch and new active noise reduction headphones.
The mobility niche has not been neglected either, since the Chinese manufacturer has revealed a new electric scooter model, the Electric Scooter 4 Ultra. This is the Ultra version of the Electric Scooter 4, also available in Pro. And as its name suggests, the technical sheet goes even further than usual.
Big autonomy on the menu
To begin with, this Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is the very first in the Xiaomi catalog to incorporate a double suspension system, front and rear. This gives it a more adventurous side, and should also and above all enhance the comfort of the machine. Which won’t hurt him given the mediocre comfort found on the Scooter 4 Pro.

To avoid any unexpected punctures, 10-inch Xiaomi DuraGel tires have been installed: they are wider, we can read in the press release sent to the editorial staff, but also self-sealing.
Another new feature to note: the peak motor power, which climbs to 949 Wh instead of 700 W on the Pro model. If this will not allow him to go faster on the flat, the legal limit being 25 km / h, this performance gain will serve him on the other hand to climb positive elevations of 25%, against 20% on the Pro iteration .
Very heavy on the scale
Autonomy is also gaining ground: 70 km in total, even if you should rarely reach this range. Indeed, this radius of action was obtained by Xiaomi on a flat road, with a user of 75 kg – plus a load of 5 kg – driving at 15 km/h. In town, speeds of 20 and 25 km/h are generally very easily reached.
Nevertheless, the autonomy of this machine should easily exceed 50 km all the same. The battery charges in 6.5 hours.

The other main change that could cool more than one and more than one concerns the weight: 25 kg (17.5 kg for the Pro). This substantial weight inevitably has an impact on intermodality, since moving such a load by the force of one’s arms in public transport becomes a damned difficult task for most users.
On the safety side, Xiaomi has installed a drum brake at the front and an electromagnetic brake at the rear. Widened handlebar, IP55 (protected against splashing water), Bluetooth connectivity, foldable, supports a load of 120 kg, made of aluminum: here is the rest of the technical information to remember.
Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra: price and availability
Finally, we should mention a brand new driving mode: Sport+, which promises “supple and pleasant acceleration”, without giving more details about it.
Here, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is placed on a brand new price segment: 999 euros, or 200 euros difference with the Scooter 4 Pro which suddenly loses a lot of interest in the face of this version. We will have to wait until April 20, the day of its official release, to discover it.
