Pokémon Scarlet and Purple has received its second patch, 1.2.0, with news added after Pokémon Presents, such as two new Pokémon, Ondulagua and Ferroverdorwhich comes out in terafive-star raids for a limited time.
A week earlier, they shared the full patch notes. And in it an incognito “nerf” is certified, since in reality it is a correction of a bug, which affected Dose y Tatsugiriand that made them too powerful…

Dondozo and Tatsugiri’s incognito nerf
Dondozo (which is one of the Dominant Pokémon in the game’s story) has a symbiosis with the “little guy” Tatsugiri. This strategy can only be used in double fights, which is why it has become popular in competitive.
Tatsugiri has an ability, To command, in which it gets into Dondozo’s mouth automatically when bringing the two out to fight. Inside Dondozo’s mouth, Tatsugiri boosts all of his statsAttack, Special At, Defense, Special Df, Speed and HP.
Even Dondozo has a move, Ear Kitchento further increase its stats, depending on the color of the tatsugiri (Orange increases Attack, Red increases its Defense, and Yellow increases its Speed).
This movement never failedeven if the opponent had used an attack to nullify the opponent, such as Protection. For many, Dondozo was too broken for that reason… and it was: Dondozo was broken, and this patch fixes it:
As of 1.2.0., Ear Cooking will no longer increase Dondozo’s stats if the move has been nullified by the opponent with a Shield or other similar move, not because it was too powerful, but because it was a mistake in the first place. Will Dondozo and Tatsugiri lose popularity in the Pokémon meta after this indirect “nerf”?
