Head Sonic Team Takashi Iizuka will take over as creative director of the series Sonic for SEGA in the US from April 1st. The change was announced in a message to investors, and how exactly this position will affect his current work on the Sonic series is unclear. It is possible that Sonic Team will also have a new manager.
Iizuka has been working on the franchise since the early 1990s, starting as a designer on Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and later helped found the Sonic Team division in the States. Then he worked on Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and other projects.
