LeBron James’ entry into the PlayStation Playmakers team is celebrated by Sony with a Limited Edition PlayStation 5 cover ‘signed’ by the NBA star.
The latest object of desire for collectors of special edition consoles is part of the new collection of PS5 accessories designed by LeBron James to be released later in 2023. The limited edition collection of the NBA legend will include both the special cover for PlayStation 5 console and the controller DualSense con design PlayStation Playmaker.
Each graphic element chosen by Sony’s creatives reflects the love nurtured by LeBron James for video games and the community: LeBron himself, on the other hand, participated in the creation of the cover and design of the DualSense with personal images and ‘sound bites’ which have been significant in his professional and human growth path.
“It’s crazy to think that a boy from Akron who grew up playing video games I’m creating something like this,” LeBron James begins before pointing out how “designing a console cover and a PlayStation controller that hint at working with my students at I Promise and remember where we come from is quite an interesting thing. I hope this initiative helps to inspire all those involved, perhaps having fun discovering the meaning of every little detail of the design”.
