Samsung is about to launch its first connected ring. After teasing next-gen mixed reality glasses during Galaxy Unpacked 2023, the ring with health and sleep trackers may launch soon.
Brands like Oura and Ultrahuman already market connected rings The Galaxy Ring will be able to provide health data like any fitness tracker or smartwatch
Samsung has been making Galaxy smartwatches for over a decade. Apparently, the company wants to take a new step. A patent for a connected ring type device has leaked online.
All about the Samsung Galaxy Ring
The Dutch site, GalaxyClub revealed that Samsung recently registered the brand name “Galaxy Ring” with the Intellectual Property Rights Information Service of South Korea (KIPRIS).
Apart from the name, two other pieces of information about the connected ring have been revealed. It’s about the shape of the ring (and surprise… it will be circular, I know, wow, that’s totally crazy and unexpected) and how it will be used to collect health and sleep data users.
GalaxyClub is not the first to claim that Samsung is working on a connected ring. However, it is one of the few media to provide credible elements on Samsung’s wearable.
And Samsung isn’t alone in working on more compact health or fitness tracking wearables.

Apple is also developing a connected ring
Apple has also worked on a connected ring. This ring could be paired with future mixed or extended reality headsets. Besides using it as a basic health and fitness tracker.
Samsung could do the same for its XR or its extended reality headset. But it is still too early to tell.
Apple and Samsung, small manufacturers like Ultrahuman and Oura already offer connected rings. The former is also renowned for its M1 blood glucose meter.
Which major manufacturers do you think would come up with a wearable or headset that would bring a breakthrough comparable to the first iPhone?
