Adding product icons to the Coverage section of Apple Care in Settings
Apple expanded the Coverage section of Apple Care with the first beta. In this second version, there are now icons for your products covered by Apple Care in the Coverage section. You will now see an icon for your AirPods or your Apple Watch for example.
By tapping and holding a device, you’ll see additional info like the expiration date. Details like Apple Care+ will also be visible if you’re a subscriber.
The reintroduction of the page rotation animation in the Books app
First removed at the launch of iOS 16, the page rotation animation is back. A toggle button has been added to the Books app to change page turning animation. You will now have the choice between three animations to turn the pages. This toggle button can be accessed by going to the Menu then in Themes et Settings.
Minimizing strobe or flashing lights
Available in Beta 1, Apple enabled the new Accessibility Control in Beta 2. You will now be able to reduce the strobe effect or flashing lights when watching videos. The feature works by dimming detected parts of a video.
The switch to activate or deactivate the function is located in Settings > Accessibility > Motion. In this section you can activate the function Dimming flashing lights. It supports both native iOS player and third-party apps like YouTube.
Minor podcast and music player improvements
For the Apple Podcasts app, there’s a new home screen. The app now supports library channels, expanded CarPlay functionality as well as a feature that lets you pick up episodes where you left off and skip what you don’t want to listen to.
Apple also updated the animations in the music player. There is now a dynamic waveform synchronized to the beats of the track currently playing while pressing on the next track brings up a longer floating window.
