03/02/2023 at 12:45 p.m. by Andreas Link – Sons of The Forest can be played through in under 9 minutes, as a speed run proves. It’s from the Any% Normal Glitched category and takes advantage of a few bugs in the game.
Even speedruns from The Forest have a certain legendary status, because the title can be played through in its final form in around 20 minutes if you use the right glitches. Even the developers at Endnight Games were amazed. For Sons of The Forest, the first relevant time of the first Early Access version is now available – just over 8 minutes.
On Youtube you can see Benjamin Romero getting the time. The category is “Any% Normal Glitched” – meaning primarily “get through as quickly as possible, using possible glitches”. Logically, those who haven’t played the story should be warned: the video contains spoilers!

Among other things, Romero uses the game mechanics that the natives abduct you if you are unconscious. Used correctly, it can be a kind of fast travel feature. Then comes the first minor glitch: After being freed from the violence of the indigenous population, it goes downhill with some equipment and the crafting menu in hand. You become an indestructible sled made of flesh and blood. Also in the bunker it goes with a well-known glitch by using clipping for itself. This has the advantage that you can get out above the corridor with the mutants and leave them on the left. The last door is also overcome with a wall glitch in order to get the golden armor. Going back with a bunch of clipping errors.
Sons of the Forest: New update brings enormous ease of play
After that it’s just a short walk through a cave complex, where you walk around a few mutants, unpack the living sled again and soon enjoy the end sequence at 8 minutes and 45 seconds. At least until the next patch, the challenge is to undercut this time; maybe even longer if Endnight Games doesn’t fix glitches and/or change something in the previous story. It seems that the time can be even lower if you optimize the speed run and are lucky. Maybe someone will find an even faster solution.
