We examined 15 current Powerline adapter models in the CHIP test center.
The devolo Magic 2 WiFi 6 Starter Kit (8816) scored the most. Our test winner convinces with a very strong and constant performance in data transmission over the power line – even under difficult conditions. The equipment is also very decent, and Wi-Fi 6 is also on board. However, the price for the top powerline adapter is also very high: You have to invest around 200 euros in the devolo Magic 2 WiFi 6 Starter Kit (8816).
Our price tip, the TP-Link TL-PA7019P KIT, is significantly cheaper for around 50 euros. The Powerline adapter is kept simple – the equipment is rather thin, but the device is powerful. It offers stable data transfer and is also relatively low in power consumption.
