Analysts at Jon Peddie Research revised the report, which reported that the shares of Intel and AMD in the discrete GPU market were equal. It turned out that AMD is still ahead.
As it turned out, when counting discrete GPUs implemented by Intel, professional accelerators for data centers were taken into account. During the quarter, the company sold about 60,000 such devices.
If we consider sales of conventional discrete GPUs only, then Intel’s share is about 6% of the market. AMD still accounts for about 9% of the market.
Nvidia is still the market leader in discrete GPUs. According to Jon Peddie Research, by the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, Nvidia controlled 85% of the video card market, the company’s share decreased by 1 percentage point in the quarter.
