We remind you that Nintendo eShop for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will close on 27 March 2023. That means you have three weeks left to buy digital games for both platforms and make them yours forever.
In fact, remember that every game bought on the eShop of the two Nintendo platforms will remain available for download even after the digital store closes. On both Wii U and 3DS, you can buy every game available until 27th March.
However, we remind you that it is no longer possible load money from Wii U and 3DS, but you have to do it via Nintendo Switch. The Kyoto-based company removed support for credit cards on the two old platforms last year and shortly thereafter also prevented the use of prepaid cards. The only way to buy games is therefore to combine the Nintendo Network ID (used for Wii U and 3DS) with your Nintendo Account (used for Switch) and load money via Switch since at that point the wallets are shared.
This is a somewhat complex process if you are not familiar with it, but it does not require too much time. If you love using your old consoles even after years and you don’t want to miss the opportunity to play some videogames available only in digital format or practically impossible to find in physical format (especially at reasonable prices), you shouldn’t waste time and take advantage of these last weeks of availability dell’eShop for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
We also remember that the ability to play online will not be removed from the two consoles. In total though, around 1,000 digital-only games will “disappear.”
Finally, we point out the best-selling games of Wii U.
