MERING • Despite the manageable edition and Amazon-exclusive release, Sega doesn’t skimp on the Mega Drive Mini 2 presented in the last issue and delights Japanese fans with an approximately 45-minute CD album with eleven tracks. The first is Yuzo Koshiro’s excellent menu music, which uses motifs from games like Shining in the Darkness, Soleil or Phantasy Star II picks up, the rest are rearranged tracks from twelve other included games. A wonderfully relaxed interpretation of After Burner II is also part of the game, as is a powerful, impressive variant of the music by Gain Grounda wonderfully e-guitar-heavy arrangement by Thunder Force IV and a great medley Bonanza Bros., Columns III and Fantasy Zone. You can get the album from the label Wave Master at Amazon Japan. With 3,300 yen, the equivalent of about 23 euros, you are there. There’s also some shipping on top of that – an excellent album, especially for Mega-Drive veterans!
