Bang & Olufsen is one of those brands specializing in audio equipment and offering a slew of high-end products in its catalog. But as you can imagine, it is not given. The Beoplay EQ Bluetooth earphones, for example, are outrageously priced, yet they aren’t gold-plated or trimmed in mink skin, but they do deliver top-of-the-line performance. Fortunately, a promotion on Fnac lowers the price of these headphones from 399 euros to 199.99 euros.

After high-end headphones, the Danish Bang & Olufsen decides to walk on Apple’s toes and compete with its AirPods Pro with Bluetooth headphones of the same caliber. If the Scandinavian firm is not at its first attempt on the Bluetooth headphones market, the Beoplay EQ are the first model to integrate active noise reduction. At the moment, the Beoplay EQ are enjoying a 50% discount.

Where to buy the
Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EQ at the best price?
Excellent sound performance
Suffice to say that at this price, the sound reproduction of the Beoplay EQ must be impeccable. The 6.8 mm electrodynamic transducers deliver a balanced spatial sound and to which we have nothing to add, except that the highs are not emphasized enough. In any case, the mids are impeccable and the bass is very present. Moreover, the headphones are compatible with Bluetooth audio codecs SBC and AAC, but also aptX Adaptive. The latter is very rare, but it promises high throughput and latency reduced to 50 ms.
However, where the Beoplay EQs particularly appeal is in terms of active and dynamic noise reduction, which is simply excellent. Depending on the sound level of your external environment, the headphones will calibrate the level of isolation on their own. They also benefit from a Transparency mode. Finally, the six microphones of the two headphones are able to filter the sounds around you when you make a call and thus remain understandable, even in a noisy environment.
At this price, are the Beoplay EQs perfect?
No gold plating or mink skin, but anodized aluminum which, in addition to being more aesthetic, is resistant to corrosion, traces, scratches and high temperatures. The headphones also come with four pairs of silicone eartips and one pair of comfortable, insulating memory foam. The case is also made of aluminum and has a rubber base compatible with Qi wireless charging as well as a USB-C port.
Autonomy is 20 hours in normal use, which is in the average of the competition, and this figure drops to 6 or 7 hours with active noise reduction. You can also set up your headphones using the Bang & Olufsen app, but it’s a shame that it doesn’t offer more customization options, for noise reduction for example.
These headphones aren’t perfect in that perfection doesn’t exist, but the performance they give us can rarely be matched. In any case, they are perfectly worth the reduced price thanks to the promotion of Fnac.
