03/08/2023 at 7:30 p.m. by Philipp Sattler – With the upcoming WoW Patch 10.1, the 2nd season starts in Dragonflight. This also means that the previous eight Mythic Plus dungeons will be exchanged for new ones. Blizzard has now announced which four old instances will join the four Dragonflight dungeons.
At the end of Shadowlands, Blizzard developers started to integrate old dungeons into the current Mythic Plus system. With WoW: Dragonflight, this path was consistently continued and in the 1st season of the expansion, four of the new dungeons together with four old instances formed the setup for the M+ dungeons. It was already made clear at the time of release that all eight dungeons would be replaced with the second season.
While it was clear that we would be presented with the remaining four Dragonflight dungeons, the question arose: which four old dungeons will the developers spice up for the system and present us in Season 2. There is now an answer to this question. Because as part of a presentation on the upcoming WoW Patch 10.1, the developers told us which four dungeons we can look forward to.

The reaction to the four old dungeons was mixed, at least for us. Because while some of these were often mentioned in the discussions about potential instances, we can’t remember that others were even mentioned at all.
The following dungeons will form the Mythic Plus feature in WoW Season 2: Dragonflight:
New DungeonsAlte Dungeons
The latter will be playable as a Mythic Plus dungeon for the first time. Interestingly, the developers contradict the statement made by Ion Hazzikostas a few weeks ago. At the time, he said they probably wouldn’t go back further than Mists of Pandaria. The dungeons before that would not meet today’s requirements either in terms of play or appearance. That would suggest that we might be able to count on some adjustments to bosses and trash mobs in Vortex Summit.
How do you like the selection of dungeons? Freihafen came up very often in any discussion, while the others came out of nowhere. Though Neltharion’s lair makes a lot of sense from a story perspective, of course. By the way, some time ago we put together our personal dream dungeons and were as far off the mark as it is hardly possible.
