After a solid start to Destiny 2: Lightfall, Bungie’s shooter isn’t really going well at the moment. An unscheduled maintenance along with downtime and hotfix should fix a lot this evening.
It crunches in Destiny 2: Lightfall. After massive problems again last night, there is an additional downtime for today. In addition to login problems, error messages and queues, there were reports of missing licenses, incorrect silver amounts and delayed processing of purchases, so that Bungie had to temporarily take the servers offline to make corrections.
In the meantime, the situation has calmed down to some extent, but the game is still not running smoothly, especially since there are still a number of problems on the to-do list that have arisen in the past few days. Among other things, some armor mods and exotic weapons had to be deactivated, there are frequent reports of crashes, especially on PS5, invisible characters after interacting with the ratings and, as we have just noticed, the armor mods displayed in the tooltips on mouseover do not always fit to the mods actually created, which speaks for problems with the loadout system.
One can now be curious, because Bungie has via Twitter announced unscheduled maintenance for tonight. The same should start at 5 p.m. with work in the background, the servers will probably not be available from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. From 9 p.m., if everything goes well, smooth gaming should be possible again. Bungie uses the downtime to install a hotfix with version number 7.0.0.3 on all platforms.
What exactly the hotfix is supposed to fix is still uncertain. Bungie has not yet released any patch notes for the update – this usually happens during maintenance. So it remains to be hoped that Bungie will at least fix the biggest problems. That would be desirable, because tomorrow at 6 p.m. the race for world first is supposed to start in the new raid “Root of Nightmares” and invisible players, locked mods and weapons and server problems would certainly not be helpful.
