At the time of writing, we can say that Samsung is queen and mistress of the foldable smartphone market globally. It sells more foldable smartphones than other brands combined.
This is due to the fact that it is a more mature manufacturer in this segment and market leader in smartphones in general. But also because it has not had real competition at a global level to date from the main manufacturers.
But between the end of last year and the beginning of 2023, the trend is changing. Oppo already sells its Find N2 Flip globally, and Honor will start selling the Magic Vs. It looks like Realme will be one of the next to rival Samsung.
Realme may be preparing a Flip or a Fold
On the social network Twitter, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme, asked fans of the brand about their preferences. “What do you want next… Realme Flip or Realme Fold?”, can be read in the publication.
This could mean that Realme is preparing two smartphones with similar approaches to Samsung’s Flip and Fold. Last year, the vice president of Realme had already said that the brand was working on a foldable smartphone.
For now, Realme’s chips in the global market seem to be placed on the new GT 3. This equipment stands out for being the first on the market with 240 W charging, capable of filling its 4600 mAh battery in no less than 9 minutes .
