Although it seemed like a series made to last only one season, You is surprising fans and Netflix executives by extending itself for four seasons, the last one divided into two parts, without losing an iota of its popularity. But its protagonist, P.enn Badgley, doesn’t think this is an excuse for the series to go on forever.
“I think we should do another season. I think Joe needs what’s to come to happen to him because now he’s at a much more painful height to fall from since he has power and wealth,” Badgley explained in an interview with Indiewire, “But that’s not up to me. I don’t know where the series is headed.”

“But for me it’s about being responsible with this character and this concept, and It’s not something we can let go on forever because it’s doing well.. I know that the creators of You have always had in mind a fifth season that should be the last. So that there is a spectacular resolution that I think is already cooking at the end of this season.”
Despite the fact that now the protagonist of You is confused about the plans of the platform, in a recent interview, Badgley claimed that Netflix had made him sign up for six seasons from the series. “You can do two more seasons if Netflix wants to. But I think there’s only going to be one more, that’s what I understand.”

“A Satisfying End to You”
Even so, if finally Netflix does not want to do a fifth, or a sixth season, of You, Penn Badgley does not care too much either because he thinks the season four finale could also work as a series finale.
“It can be finished as it is now because it is quite satisfying.. But I think what’s particularly dystopian is that he has indeed won. You have taken this man and shown him his lowest and highest moments. In that sense, I think it’s the ending that we all like,” acknowledged the protagonist of You.
