when it seemed that Henry Cavill was going to return in style to the DC Extended Universe after his appearance as Superman in the post-credits scene of Black Adam, the thing finally came to nothing with the decision of DC Studios (with James Gunn and Peter Safran in front) to give the saga a restart in his next films and series.
This new stage of DC will be made up of chapters (which will be the equivalent of the phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe), whose first chapter is titled Gods and Monsters (Gods and Monsters).
At the moment of this first chapter, “only” five films and five series have been confirmed, which make up less than half of Gods and Monsters, as stated by James Gunn not long ago.
Dwayne Johnson is pronounced on the new decisions of DC Studios
During a recent interview for Variety, Dwayne Johnson, who played Black Adam in the DC Extended Universe movie, he spoke about DC Studios’ decision to drop plans they had for Henry Cavill’s return as Superman.
“Know, all I could do and all we could do when we were making Black Adam was do our bestsurround ourselves with the best people and then also offer the best film we could”, commented the interpreter.
Dwayne Johnson reacts to bad #BlackAdam reviews: “Our audience score was in the 90s. Critics took a couple of shots. That’s just the business of it, though.” https://t.co/vBDJNHhLBi pic.twitter.com/McGoPSgh1q

“Our audience score was in the 90s. The critics took a couple of tries, though that’s the thing I guess.
But I think it’s almost like when you have a professional football team and your quarterback wins championships, the coach wins championships, and [luego] you have a new owner. And a new owner comes in and says, ‘He’s not my coach, he’s not my quarterback. I’m going with someone new,'” the actor added.
Originally Henry Cavill was scheduled to reprise the role of Superman in a belated sequel to Man of Steel after his brief appearance in Black Adam.
However, when James Gunn and Peter Safran were named Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs of DC Studios in late 2022, They scrapped Man of Steel 2 in favor of rebooting the Superman franchisesomething that did not sit well with the fans.
