Head coach of the German football club RB Leipzig Marco Roze commented on the massive 0-7 defeat in the Champions League round of 16 match against Manchester City:
“We had a particularly bad time defending in the penalty area. And we did it in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League! They changed something in the pressing compared to the second half in Leipzig and we didn’t expect it.
We haven’t been able to get into the game yet. This is my responsibility. We conceded a lot of goals, it’s sad. City more than deserved their victory.
I know Erling very well, I know his qualities. When Erling is close to the goal, he wants to score. Today he scored four – no, even five!
RB Leipzig defender Benjamin Henricks:
“I have never lost 7-0 before in my career. This is a cruel and bitter evening for us. Holland is physically very strong. He has a lot to offer and is very difficult to defend against.”
Midfielder RB Leipzig Emil Forsberg:
“It’s not very good. I don’t want to look for excuses. It hurts. City did well, they have a fantastic team. We have to be honest: we didn’t have a chance.”
