30-year-old Ukrainian footballer Roman Skrypnyuk gave his life for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian athlete died in the battles near Bakhmut against Rashists. Roman was buried in his native village of Molodezhnoye (5 km from Chernomorsk) in the Odessa region.
Skrypnyuk was a graduate of the Bastion football club, which competed in the Second League of the Ukrainian Championship. In his youth, Skripnyuk participated both in the championships of the Odessa region and in all-Ukrainian tournaments. After that, he served in the army. Returning home after the service, Roman continued to defend the colors of local football clubs. He took part in the championships of Chernomorsk and Odessa, the championship of the Odessa region and regional competitions.
In addition to Bastion, Skripnyuk played for Chornomorsk, Zatoka, Trofimovets, Inter from Malaya Dolina, Luxor, Efes during his career.
Roman’s last club was FC TBT (TransBalkTerminal), the leader of the Chornomorsk Open Futsal Championship of the 2022/23 season.
Roman left a family – his wife Olga and two children.
