The new DLC pack for Civilization VI: Leader Pass – Great Builders – is available now. With the Great Builders Pack, players can rebuild the world better than ever, including Theodora (Byzantine Empire), Sejong (Korea), and Ludwig II (Germany).
Theodora (Byzantine Empire)
Theodora was an actress when the future Byzantine emperor Justinian drew attention to her. Since the marriages of high-ranking men to actresses were prohibited by law, Justinian changed the law. It so happened that two years later, when he ascended the throne, Theodora became empress. In this position, Theodora championed the rights of women and had a great influence on the religious policy of the empire, supporting the branch of Christianity that became dominant in Ethiopia, Syria and Egypt. In some Orthodox churches, she and Justinian continue to be venerated as saints. In the game, Theodora focuses on culture.
New Ability: Metanoia Holy sites provide culture equal to their proximity bonus. Farms give Faith’s neighborhood bonus to Hippodrome and Holy Places.
Sejong (Korea)
Sejong of Joseon, who is still considered one of the greatest leaders in Korean history, supported science as well as military advances and released a book to help farmers learn new techniques from different regions. He is also credited with creating the Hangul alphabet, which replaced the Chinese characters previously used to write Korean words and is still in use today. A lover of science and music, Sejong dislikes civilizations that surpass Korea in science and culture.
New Ability: Hangul After completing their first New Age technology, players gain twice as much Science per turn as Culture.
Ludwig II (Germany)
The “mad king” Ludwig was born into a Bavarian noble family and ascended the throne at the age of only 19. Under his rule, Bavaria lost its independence to the German Empire, but Ludwig is best known for his love of architecture. He personally financed the construction of elaborate castles which, although they brought him financial ruin and contributed to the sudden end of his reign, are today one of Bavaria’s most important tourist attractions. As the leader of his civilization, Ludwig sets himself the task of the Eternal Mystery, so he likes civilizations that do not support the maximum number of districts in each city.
New Ability: The Swan King Wonders, even those that are not completed, gain +2 culture per adjacent district. All cultural districts give tourism after exploring castles.
