The new artwork for the next open world project gives you another impression of the fantasy setting.
“We never stop improving,” begins the latest Twitter post from Polish developer Techland.
With a narrative focus
Then those responsible explain what you can imagine under the confirmed open-world role-playing game. It is described as a “narrative fantasy epic” in which you explore an exotic, free-roaming world. The goal of the developers is to create an AAA title that puts the story first. Techland’s characteristic gameplay elements are to be combined and refined.
One of these game mechanics is climbing, as you know it from the “Dying Light” series. The artwork attached to the tweet suggests that this element will also play an important role in the upcoming game.

The broken celestial body in the background is striking. We also see a building that is visited by several people. Further in the distance we see a kind of settlement, which is why an extinct world is not to be expected. In any case, there is sufficient verticality: there are several rock formations in the landscape, one of which is particularly high. There is some kind of fortress or temple on it.
Techland published the first artwork for this project last year. There are also many waterfalls and ancient buildings to see.

For the development of this game, the board hired former developers of CD Projekt RED. Among them are two narrative experts and one open-world specialist. Also joining the cast are the creative director of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and the lead game designer of Deathloop.
A full current-gen experience was promised at the time. Support for the old consoles is therefore not to be expected.
