Dr. Fetus Mean Meat Machine it’s the new one puzzle platform developed by Headup Development and set in the world of Super Meat Boyarriving later this year on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
A couple of years after the release of Super Meat Boy Forever, the Team Meat franchise therefore returns with a spin-off that mixes the mechanics of classic puzzle games with some extreme platforming elements typical of the series.
“Solve puzzles through expertly crafted beautiful worlds and more than 100 levels, full of dangers and creative traps. At the end of each world, get ready to face gruesome bosses for an unprecedented challenge,” reads the game synopsis on Steam.
The action is typical of a match-4 to Puyo Puyo, in which however we will also be asked to avoid traps and pitfalls while matching clones of the same type. In the background the scenarios and animations of Super Meat Boy and Super Meat Boy Forever, as well as the music tracks created by RIDICULON.
Narratively Dr. Fetus Mean Meat Machine takes place immediately after the events of Super Meat Boy Forever, with Dr. Fetus having completed his analyzes of the meat hero and using the data he collected to create a perfect clone of him. To get to that result, however, the scientist will have to go through several failures…
“But fear not, Dr. Fetus knows how to fix the situation. He has created a series of dangerous rooms to test the clones he created and get rid of the defective ones. At first the specimens look nothing like Meat Boy, but over time the features of that adorable grotesque face so hated by Dr. Fetus begin to emerge.”
