Os students from school Prof. Eduardo Soares from the city of Alambari, located in the interior of São Paulo, will have the opportunity to learn about the profession of game developer. The institution has a partnership with the GameMakerwhich is a game development tool based in Scotland to further this initiative.
The idea with this is to encourage young Brazilians to create games. In this way, the company will be participating in an initiative that aims to strengthen the sector of the category in the country. Therefore, the measure serves to support the training of new professionals who wish to make a career. Russel Kay is Head of GameMaker and spoke about the news:
We see Brazil as one of the biggest game development markets in the world. Great professionals are trained in the country, but we see that there is still a lot to be explored, and many more young people can be encouraged to join a sector that is growing, starting here in Alambari

It is worth remembering that Brazil has already been elected the main country in the external development of games. Now, with this measure promoted by GameMaker, the objective is to demonstrate that the game creator career can be something more accessible with the help of the platform. In this sense, Luiz Fernando Delgado, who is the director of the Prof. Eduardo Soares, also commented:
We embraced the opportunity to hold a workshop focused on game development to show how this industry is a new career opportunity for our students. As most of them are from rural areas, we saw in this action a way to explore technology as a way into the job market, showing that there are many possibilities beyond the environment in which they are inserted. Thanks to the internet, our students can have a global career in game design
For the Workshop to be held at the school, three GameMaker partners were invited: NoNe, Guselect and Luiz Alves. All of them have experience in the area of game development and will try to teach the content to the students. Finally, Russell Kay added:
GameMaker was born as a teaching tool. We never forget our roots, that’s why we make GameMaker free for schools and teachers. With this project, we reinforce our goal of offering new opportunities to the new generation
The initiative will take place on March 18th and in addition, the platform has provided a 50% discount coupon for the cost created by NoNe. Between the 18th and 31st of March, it is possible to redeem with the code GAMEMAKER.
