In the 28th round of the Polish Volleyball Championship, the Lviv team “Barkom-Kazhany” played in the city of Zawierci with the local club “Aluron Warta”, which is in the 3rd place in the Plus League standings. In the first round, the opponents met in Krakow and then the Ukrainians were defeated in three sets.
And in today’s game, at first, the advantage of the hosts of the site was tangible. The score of the first two games speaks eloquently about this – 25:14 and 25:13. Only in the third set, the guests managed to recover and finally improve their game. By the middle of the game, the Lviv team already had five points ahead of their opponents – 6:11. And although the Polish volleyball players soon reduced the gap to 12:14, the next breakthrough of our team was decisive – 12:18, 13:20 and 17:25. Here it is worth noting the diagonal “Barkom-Kazhany” Vasily Tupchiy. In the third game, he scored 12 (!) points, and in total he had 24 points in this match.
The Ukrainians also started the fourth set well, when they took the lead 0:2. However, the volleyball players from Zawiercie played stronger and after a while they themselves took the lead 5:3. Further, the advantage of two or three points in favor of the hosts remained until the score of 12:10, and then the Aluron-Varta team sharply went ahead 17:10, 20:11 and everything became clear. The game eventually ended with a score of 25:15, and the match 3:1.
The composition of the Ukrainians in this fight was as follows: Murat Yenipazar (scored 3 points), Julius Firkal (0), Vladislav Shchurov (3), Vasily Tupchiy (24), Jonas Kvalen (2), Artem Smolyar (14), Dmitry Kanaev, ( libero) – starting. The replacements were: Bohdan Mazenko (4), Vitaliy Kucher (3), Oleg Shevchenko (0), Oleksiy Goloven (0).

For Barkom-Kazhana volleyball players it was the 29th penultimate match in the Plus League group stage. Ugis Krastiņš’ wards have 27 points left on their account and the team takes 13th place in the standings.
Lviv will play their final match at this stage of the tournament on Thursday March 23. On this day in Krakow they will host the ВВTS team from the city of Bielsko-Biala.
