Cloud Imperium Games has released new videos about upcoming features in Star Citizen.
The first video focuses on missions, specifically the ongoing efforts to rebuild the game’s mission system into a modular one. This system will allow developers to implement many mission variations that can be combined with each other to provide players with a variety of activities, while still scaling the game as it grows.
By the way, the video begins with an apology for the rough start of Update 3.18, which introduced a lot of new technologies and which was certainly hard on the servers, although now the problems have subsided.
In the second video, lead systems designer Torsten Leimann gives details on the engineering game’s gameplay. The second part of the video features English actress Anna Demetriou, who plays several characters in Star Citizen (including the hilarious AI concierge in New Babbage) and the Squadron 42 single-player campaign.
You may know her from her role as Sophia in A Plague Tale: Requiem and Princess Helle of Volsung in Of Gods and Warriors.
Meanwhile, Star Citizen’s crowdfunding campaign recently hit $557 million ($557,168,231 to date). The number of registered accounts also recently passed 4.4 million and now stands at 4,444,232.
Star Citizen will be released sometime in the 21st century.
