During The MIX Showcase in March 2023, a new behind-the-scenes and Norwegian tale trailer for Bramble: The Mountain King, an exploratory horror adventure scheduled for April 2023, was revealed.
Bramble: The Mountain King puts us in the shoes of Olle, a young boy who must rescue his sister who has been quickly kidnapped by a troll. The young man has to travel through a bizarre country filled with creatures of different sizes, often dangerous. The gameplay is based on platforming, stealth and finding new ways to defeat the creatures that oppose us.
The description of the video reads:
Join a member of the Dimfrost Studio development team for a deep dive into Bramble The Mountain King, including a discussion of the dark Norse stories that inspired the setting of the upcoming adventure game, as well as several of the creatures you’ll encounter along your journey.
The video reveals that the team originally wanted to create a game based on the Vikings, but this is a topic that has already been effectively addressed in other cases, so they chose to choose Norse tales that are more than familiar to them and less known to the general public. We also get to see some gameplay in the Bramble the Mountain King video, so it’s highly recommended even if you’re not particularly interested in diving too deep into the team’s work.
Bramble the Mountain King will release on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on April 27, 2023.
