We met him in Game of Thrones. We loved him as Din Djarin opposite Grogu in The Mandalorian. We rediscovered and memorized him endlessly in that car scene alongside Nicolas Cage in The Talented Mr C. We were thrilled to see him as Joel in The Last of Us. We laughed seeing him making fun of Super Mario and HBO and dancing to clickers on Saturday Night Live. We felt the temperature rise as his gaze penetrated the screen as we followed Oscar Night. Now, Pedro Pascal, we also find him as a testimonial for mobile games.
Just as my colleague Johnny Depp dressed as a pirate – but no Jack Sparrow – not too many months ago, Pedro Pascal too wears a new skin, that of the police inspector for advertise Merge Mansion, a free-to-play mobile game available on Android and iOS devices through their respective stores. It is, as can be guessed from the trailer, a police-style puzzle game. Pascal makes an enormous effort to try to explain the case that has been submitted to him and which involves a typical American family which, however, seems to be hiding a strange mystery.
The video, available below, is worth more than whole paragraphs of text to explain what it is. The synopsis provided by the developers is, in summary, this: Maddie receives keys that open a gate in the back garden at the home of her grandmother, Ursula. The path hides a huge mansion. The protagonist understands that there is much more to tell about her family than she thinks. But why is Grandma so reluctant to talk about it and what the hell is going on?
