After witnessing the implementation of a new ten-year agreement by Microsoft, the Redmond giant is back to talking about theacquisition of Activision within a document delivered to the CMA.
In this document, it seems that Microsoft wanted to reiterate some of the reasons why Sony would not be hurt by the takeover, and therefore from the potential exclusivity of video game series such as Call Of Duty. One of the main points is that according to which Activision would be only the fifth most profitable third party publisher of the Japanese company, with the first places occupied respectively by EA, Ubisoft and Take-Two Interactive.
Microsoft then wanted to emphasize the attitude of alleged closure of Sony towards the public of other platformsa trend highlighted by the publication of ben 286 games exclusive to PlayStationwhich obviously include titles such as God of War, The Last of Us and Marvel Spider-Man.
The points raised by Microsoft are certainly interesting, however we must add that the situation relating to publishers is the same also in the Xbox housewhere Activision appears to be outside the top of the most profitable third parties.
In any case, it seems that things are looking pretty good for the Redmond giant. The latest reports reveal that the European Commission is ever closer to giving its green light to the acquisition of Activision, for what could be an epochal event for the industry.
