With the arrival of Battlefield 2042 in the March free games catalog on PlayStation Plus Essential, the multiplayer shooter from EA DICE and Ripple Effect has seen an exponential increase in the number of active players on Sony platforms, both on PS4 and on PlayStation 5 .
Based on the statistics published by the curators of the TrueTrophies portal drawing on the data of over three million PlayStation accounts, in fact, the number of active Battlefield 2042 players has increased nearly sixfold (more precisely, by 578%) after the title entered Sony’s subscription service.
The exponential increase recorded by TrueTrophies in the number of active users of BF2042 has brought the multiplayer shooter from Electronic Arts back into the Top5 most popular titles on PS Store. However, only time will tell if fans of online FPS on PS4 and PlayStation 5 will continue to populate the Battlefield 2042 servers between now and the coming months, thus furthering the work that EA DICE is carrying out in ‘turning the tide ‘ of this project after a problematic launch to say the least.
To those who follow us, we remind you that in recent days the Swedish software house has confirmed its intention to support Battlefield 2042 until 2024 and perhaps even beyond, especially considering the ‘newfound honeymoon’ with the players determined by the arrival of the title on EA Play, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate e PlayStation Plus.
