Not even the time to talk about the team’s refusal to communicate what Final Fantasy 16’s graphics engine is before we return to talk about the long-awaited new chapter in the Square Enix saga. This time, however, the subject of discussion around Final Fantasy 16 is the supposed existence of online leaderboards for competition between players.
The well-known videogame portal Famitsu reports the news, where information relating to the aforementioned novelty has been published. Indeed, it seems Final Fantasy 16 will contain a ranking system among gamerswhich will make it possible to introduce a dynamic of online competition between users.
According to the portal, therefore, with this feature it will be inserted a potentially infinite gameplay system within the production, thanks to the existence of the New Game Plus on Final Fantasy 16 for PS5. This, in detail, is linked to what was previously stated by the producer Naoki Yoshida: starting from the second game, in fact, a table will be introduced that will assign a score to the players based on their performance on a mission.
Unfortunately there is still no way of knowing how and if there will be further effects (thanks to the aforementioned functionality) in terms of gameplay. So, at least for the moment, we just have to wait for further official news, probably in the pipeline as the weeks go by and the advent of day one on June 22, 2023.
