When it comes to GTA 6 the certainties are at 0. This, perhaps, helps to fuel the fans’ hunger for news of all kinds. The photo posted on Reddit by user TheTenseDoctor is no exception. We have no certainty that the screenshot comes from the Vice City re-imagined for next-gen by Rockstar Games and Rockstar North. Yet for Internet Newspaper users that is enough to go completely haywire.
Posted in the swollen river that the r/GTA6 subreddit, the photo portrays what appears to be the co-star of the upcoming open world set in the fictional version of Miami in the late 90s and very early 2000s. You don’t see much else then. A dark alley, poorly lit by sparse street lamps and some “workshop” lights which, if it weren’t for the presence of the characters, would give an almost liminality sense, do the rest.
The image, while not confirmed to come from the game, could be from a fairly recent build. Removed some “imperfections” related to the presence of NPCs (whom some have imaginatively but not incorrectly compared to Insomniac’s Spider-Man’s boat people) poorly finished and decidedly poor in details, the rest seems much more refined.
The general lighting of the scene seems coherent with the light points “installed” in the alley that acts as a background, the projected shadows appear in line with the light beams emitted by the street lamps and even looking away it seems that the surfaces reflect the digital photons in a coherent manner compared to what we would see in nature.
There are many positive comments in this regard. Many other negative ones, inevitable and addressed above all to the aforementioned NPCs. The image, it must be said, could also belong to the GTA 6 data package that surfaced several months ago. The information leak has held sway in the social discussion for weeks.
