In a live stream from Insomniac Games, the Lead Engine Programmer mentioned a new technology that will be included in the next game. What is meant, of course, is “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”.
A few days ago Insomniac Games posted on Twitch streamed. Here three developers talked about game programming for almost 90 minutes.
The Insomniac staff didn’t talk about “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” but one of them at least gave a hint of a new element. Namely, lead engine programmer Elan Ruskin mentioned a “very cool dialogue technology” that will appear in the next game.
The technology mentioned is definitely used in the “Marvel’s Spider-Man” sequel. As we know, the ambitious superhero adventure is set to launch sometime this year – exclusively for PS5. It probably will in the autumn be ready.
Also included in Marvel’s Wolverine?
However, it is quite possible that this newly developed technology will also be used in future Insomniac productions. For example, “Marvel’s Wolverine”, whose announcement featured at the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021.
In any case, one can only speculate at the moment what the dialogue technology is capable of. Depending on the decisions you make, all sorts of dialogues could be completely different. If Spider-Man’s black suit also plays a role, it could be some kind of morality system. If so, the citizens and key characters would react to Spider-Man differently than they normally would.

What exactly Insomniac Games has come up with for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” will be revealed later this year. We could find out the release date at the next PlayStation Showcase, the one rumor said to take place in June. This month, by the way, will also host an Xbox Showcase and the E3.
