The Nothing Phone (1) and the Google Pixel 6a are often comparable smartphones in the mobile segment. This is because they are in the same price range, although they provide different proposals.
Carl Pei, founder of Nothing, has already accustomed us to his good humor and interaction with fans on Twitter. And this time he responded to a user in which the Nothing Phone (1) stood out against the Google Pixel 6a, in addition to the obvious Glyph Interface (the well-known LEDs on the back of the device).
Carl Pei says that the devices offer different value propositions, since the Pixel 6a is Google’s entry model, and the Phone (1) is Nothing’s current top of the range. And the executive went further by advancing with 8 advantages (in his opinion) of the Phone (1) compared to the Pixel 6a.
8 advantages of Nothing Phone (1) compared to Google Pixel 6a, according to Carl Pei
Symmetrical bezels around the screen against a large chin on the 6th. This is very satisfying for anyone who demands good design. Gorilla Glass 5 vs. plastic back, again looks much more premium.Better processor for faster performance.Much better camera hardware, although we had some trouble catching them in the software.120Hz x 60Hz refresh rate for a noticeable difference in smoothness while browsing.Visibly bigger screen, 6.55″ vs. 6.1″, for better multimedia consumption.I prefer Nothing OS to pure Android from an aesthetic and optimization/polishing/refining point of view, although both are good.Loading faster wired and support for wireless charging that is not available on the 6a.
I find it odd that Nothing Phone (1) gets compared to the Pixel 6a. It’s a good device, but has a completely different positioning and value proposition.6a is Pixel’s entry level smartphone. Phone (1) is our flagship smartphone. The BOM (bill of material) cost to build the… https://t.co/8SgQBiY6lv

While we can say that some of these points are purely down to personal preference, such as software and screen size, it’s clear that the Pixel 6a wins the camera battle thanks to the software.
But in the remaining points it can be said that the Phone (1) is better than the Pixel 6a. The 120 Hz flat screen is much more fluid, and the reduced edges and glass back make the device look much more expensive than it really is.
In addition, it is notorious that the device loads faster, just look at the numbers. Where this one is obviously unbeatable is in the fact that it provides wireless charging, and reverse charging.
It is Carl Pei who ‘pulls the ember to his sardine’ in this tweet. But on most points the executive is right.
